Copyright & Terms
The Gooner Games is a platform for free games. For Fall Fable, the download links simply point to the developer's own public files, wherever they are: itch.io pages, free Patreon builds, the developer's official site, and other public sources. We do not host, repackage or modify any download.
Are you the developer and want this page removed or fixed? Two easy options: use our DMCA page, or just email contact [at] thegoonergames.com with proof you are the dev and tell us what to change. No paperwork needed, we will edit or remove it, no questions asked.
For visitors: every download link goes straight to the original file on its original host. We add nothing, change nothing, and inject nothing along the way.
Developer Notes
- Previous saves are not supported - Too much has been added and changed for any previous saves to function correctly, unfortunately. If you don't wish to repeat a scene, you can use the skip scene button in the top right corner if that scene supports it.
- The tutorial is deprecated - Although most of the game should be self-explanatory, new players may go to the tutorial first. So much has changed and keeps changing that it is not practical to continually update the tutorial, so at the moment it is considered deprecated, and should not be relied upon for accuracy.
- The town map is bad - It is obvious that the town map does not fit thematically with the rest of the game, and needs to be updated. This is being worked on, and hopefully it makes an appearance in the next major update.
- Bugs - Though I tested as much as I could, I am but one person. If you encounter any bugs, please message me, I would appreciate it very much.
- Feedback - As always, comments, questions, concerns, etc. are always appreciated. What did you like? What didn't you like? What would you like to see more of? Feel free to shoot me a message, I'm always happy to hear your thoughts.
Finally, I would like to address the future development of this game. This update was at times a complete nightmare to work on, with hundreds of failed renders and many wasted nights. For reference, the 0.2 update came out almost exactly two months after the initial release. Looking back, the pace I set for that update was almost unhealthy, but it was all I had to work on. Since that release, I have begun a new job, and my free time has been drastically reduced. The renders have also become more complex and as a result, are taking much longer to render. I hope to upgrade my GPU in the future to alleviate some of this new load, from my trusty 1070 to something with more VRAM, as I have been frequently hitting the 8GB cap. And for the rest, I'll have to make use of the techniques I have learned to speed renders up. I don't expect future updates to come out as fast as 0.2 did, but hopefully they don't take as long as this one did.
For reasons no one will explain, the protagonist has to sit through remedial lessons even though he passed every class. Things start getting interesting on day one.
