The Gooner Games is a platform for free games. For Holiday Island, the download links simply point to the developer's own public files, wherever they are: itch.io pages, free Patreon builds, the developer's official site, and other public sources. We do not host, repackage or modify any download.
Are you the developer and want this page removed or fixed? Two easy options: use our DMCA page, or just email contact [at] thegoonergames.com with proof you are the dev and tell us what to change. No paperwork needed, we will edit or remove it, no questions asked.
For visitors: every download link goes straight to the original file on its original host. We add nothing, change nothing, and inject nothing along the way.
Developer Notes
Android version: Since I can't relese bug fixes (or any partial updates) for Android, the first (and only) Android version for 0.4.0.x will be 0.4.0.1 If all goes as planned, it will be released in a couple of days. Thank you for your understanding.
**Please extract the files into a new folder! Do not overwrite the existing game folder from an older version!
For all of you that get crashes as soon as you click on preferences or load, please manually add an empty text file in the HI sub folder "game". Name the file: "use_fixed_resolution_720.txt" What it will do is the following: It will remove the resolution options and also the auto window scaling. After you have applied the patch, you will also be able to manually scale the game window again (e.g. maximizing it).**

Fix for Game not starting
The symptom : the game doesn't start anymore (cause not yet identified).
Fix :
DELETE the Persistent file in these two folders (Save & AppData).
Save folder... (Holiday Island/game/saves)
AppData folder (C: user/*/AppData/roaming/RenPy/Island-1499865023)* your user id
Note : this action will remove some of the girls scene: plane girl scene and girl arrival)
Save compatibility
Save games from v0.0.8 onward should still work. Extract the new build into a fresh folder - do not overwrite an older install.
Fix: game does not start
If the game refuses to launch, delete the persistent file in both of these locations:
Holiday Island/game/savesC:\Users\<you>\AppData\Roaming\RenPy\Island-1499865023
Note: this also clears the plane-girl and arrival scenes from your save state.
Developer notes
Android lags one full sub-version behind: bug fixes do not ship as partial APK updates, so the only Android build for 0.4.0.x will be 0.4.0.1.
If the game crashes when you click Preferences or Load, drop an empty text file named use_fixed_resolution_720.txt into the game sub-folder. That disables resolution options and the auto-scaling, and lets you resize the window manually again.
