How Hard Can It Really Be?

Waterthose, back again secretly making this post super long! This time I took even more tie than before, what a great idea I had, a beach scene, with 10+ Lis! Yeah, rendering was PAIN, not to mention the length it added. The fact that it's even longer than v0.5 by nearly 20% and then we add the hundreds of beach renders. So far my paying patrons all loved the update very much so I hope whoever will read it also will enjoy it. That being said, stagnating on my paying subs growth as an AVN dev has been eating away at me. I've been around the same for months, with the same old sub n cancel for updates. Ahem, sorry for ranting, but I just wanted everyone to know that it is untenable for this AVN to continue if I don't grow. While I'm not in it for the money I'm also not fond of not going anywhere, with the increasing amount of time I'm using to develop the AVN. This took hundreds of hours to produce an update like this, so I really hope if you enjoy it to consider supporting me.

Hey yall, Waterthose here, I'm 100000% sure no one even reads these anymore. But if you do, dang you're a dedicated fan! That being said, I took way longer on v0.5 than I'd like due to me increasing the story scope and CG count by double in every metric. I did get a better GPU to make me render stuff faster which is why I was able to. The survey was a massive success I'd say, everyone who answered was so nice and kind, got me some ideas, but most like the way the game as it is with the silly humor and wholesomeness. Writing is still getting harder for humor but I'm still doing my best. I'm so grateful for all my readers/patrons, I can't wait to see all your responses in the next version! Waterthose here, once again with v0.4! I'm writing this ahead of my actual releas,e but I'm sure no one reads these anymore but if you do! I appreciate ya! Not much to say this time around either, I had a blast creating some of the scenarios in v0.4 and I hope you all think it have a good laugh too. Writing has been getting a bit more tougher for me as I want humor to be somewhat natural not just hey X happen is funny. Following the CG structure of Chapter 3 which most seem to appreciate. Writing more and more each version as I add more characters. I've gained a few more patrons too and even our very own Lerd0 is a fan of my game. Hopefully I can gain a bit more so I can actually offset the hours I put into making the game.

Hey yall, Waterthose here, v0.3! I wonder if anyone even reads these anymore or knows that I'm updating this. I like how I can try slightly new things since my project is still very early on. Getting a Patron very early was pretty surprising for me, hopefully the first of many. That being said I really do wonder if the way I did H scenes this time around is better, but time will tell since the consistency issue is kind of what kills it for me..

Though every time I release a version the same thought keeps going into the back of my mind "This version isn't as funny as the previous" but I have to come to terms that not every release would be super funny and trying to force humor doesn't work.

Hey yall, Waterthose here, v0.2 is out and it didn't take months! Though I did spend way more hours to get this release out asap. First, thank you for all your kind words and feedback. I still am not confident that every update will be bangers but I hope you guys can enjoy the journey as I learn and find my writing style. As promised earlier on the thread time to talk about the scope of the project!

This will basically be my magnum opus, I don't think I will attempt to make another game simultaneously like many other developers but it also means there isn't a hard end to this story (until I make one up I guess).

After writing Chapter 2 I've decided to make this more kinetic as making branching paths would be sheer chaos. Though I'm not sure if choices that let you pick certain contents to do first counts as kinetic for F95 even if it all leads to the same end. (If it does, let me know I'll ask an uploader to put on Kinetic).

What is the main focus of this VN?

Humor, Memes and a ton of H scenes. Will you find it funny? Maybe, but comedy is subjective so if you hate my humor or maybe even memes, well not much I can do. Currently in the early versions, this is all world building right now, how she meets and interacts with different characters.

Questions like how many LIs do you plan to have are gonna be tough to answer.

I have to confess, the number of LIs I want in this game sounds insane, but hear me out, it also makes the game infinitely expandable.

So you might be wondering how many? 10? 20?

Over 50+ was my initial goal, one for every class that exists in maple. This count is not including any NPCs or monster girls.

Will I reach that? Who knows, but it'll be a fun challenge to develop and write such an absurd world.

I personally love the challenge of writing unique characters with their own quirks but I'm for sure some will feel similar in the future as you can't have THAT many extreme outlier characters.

Will Celia eventually sleep with everyone she meets?

The answer is basically yes. But she obviously will have favorites who gets more scenes. Though, Celia is more of a closet futa then a I want to fuck everything that moves kind of futa. She does not want people to know.

Why a futa MC and not a male or female one?

Depending on the feedback I get for v0.2, v0.3 will have this answer explained in game. Simple answer? Pleasure.

Why was some character designs so simple like MC?

Since I'm not drawing them, I don't have a hard control on what I exactly want to be repeated twice in a scene if it's special. Also with a simpler design I can do clothed sex, kisses, etc (maybe you will see this in v0.2).

How big will Celia's Bust/Cock grow?

Sorry to disappoint those hyper futa lovers but that isn't what I'm looking for and will not be the final state of Celia. Nor is her tits going to be triple Zs. She will definitely be decent in the cock size range though. Also if the scenes don't really show it, trust me she has grown slightly. Issue with AI is always consistency so even if I clamp down on the size with LoRas there is always generating error. For instance if you prompt "penis" 10 times you will likely have 10 different penises with varying girth and lengths.

Why don't I hide my images files like other games?

Unren is a thing, so why bother, plus if you just want the images, I hope you enjoy them.

Why do you use chibis?

Sometimes LoRas have a limitation on size based on what they were trained at or certain things just don't properly generate so I rather use chibis. (Plus I find chibis adorable).

Hopefully with this release of an Android and (Untested) Mac version, more people can experience the VN.

Hey yall Waterthose here, this is my first release to test the waters so the game is relatively short. I'm a beginner when it comes to coding, prompting, and writing, basically everything required for game development but you got to start somewhere (It's also why I named my game this way). I'm both excited and nervous to hear what you guys think (well besides those AI hate boner guys) and if you guys like it, where I can improve.

Questions on development:

Why is there no sound* / bgms?

It's due to the fact I usually play VNs without sound so it's relatively a low priority for me.

What was your biggest struggle?

God damn indentation in RenPy where it sent me back to main menu and gave no errors that was the worst. That and I guess backgrounds to generate there really isn't many good quality LoRas on things like front desks.

Are there grammar or spelling errors?

I would hope not, even though English is my 69th (3rd) language I tried my best to proofread and spell check. Though some of the lines are quotes from other media so they may not always sound right.

Did you use AI to write or code any of it?

No, and never will, I can't draw for shit is which is why I used AI art. I have actually never used ChatGPT or the like ever.

Biggest fear?

Complete backlash from the F95 community I guess. Very vocal AI haters that still click on AI CG games. The fact that they think AI art is a Staples Easy button to making a game. Though if the feedback I get is overwhelmingly negative I doubt there will be a chapter 2.

This little project has given me more appreciation for all the game devs on this site (okay maybe not the super Patreon paywall ones). Even with AI it really isn't just prompt and boom Bob69's your uncle.
